ALC Citizen’s Workshop
American Latino Committee Hosts Citizenship Workshop
ALC hosted a citizenship workshop from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, August 13 at Lynn Housing Authority Community Room -10 Church Street, Lynn, MA.
“We are very happy to make possible this event, we had people from all over Massachusetts waiting for this workshop for eligible green-card holders, people came from all over. Starting with Hyannis, Waltham and many other cities. They waited patiently for their relevant station,” said the Salvadorian Jose Alvarez, which has been working with similar event on the past.
Representatives and experts from Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Collation provide free assistance as well sessions and individual consulting with volunteers, paralegals, members of the community & immigration attorneys.
“Because people without an opinion are always going to be a community without a voice. It’s important to take actions in favor of the civic representation” said Juan Gonzalez, founder of American Latino Committee.
During the event, more than a dozen of volunteers assisted the future American citizens and the event was possible by the help of : Lynn Economic Opportunity, Without Borders Magazine, Full Color, MIRA, Congressmen Moulton’s Office and Univision.
